Social Anxiety Disorder aka Social Phobia aka No Laughing Matter (…or is it?)
There really is nothing funny about social phobia/social anxiety disorder, it’s a bloody debilitating condition that makes it immensely difficult to forge relationships, have meaningful friendships or even buy a pint of milk…
…but that doesn’t mean we’re not allowed to laugh about it from time to time :)

Good for you for laughing! I couldn’t manage it today.

Social anxiety is something I know personally as well as professionally. I’ve had SA my whole life. It’s hard but I push myself to do social things. Sometimes it’s okay, other times I’m a wreck.

Deb, I hear you. So often in the past I pushed myself soooo hard to get out there, go to parties, socialise in pubs, clubs despite all that anxiety bubbling away under the surface. I just get angry when I’m wreck though, because of all the stuff I’m missing out on, when it’s such a seemingly easy thing to deal with. But then, it’s not easy, it never is, but we just have to keep on going. What other choice do we have?
